Your project data brought into shape: CNC components for e-fuel systems

We specialise in the manufacture of customised components. Particularly in the field of chemistry for e-fuels, components often have to have more than just certain dimensions. They must also have clearly defined resistances. They must be chemically and physically resistant to all synthetic fuel base materials. Customers also expect a long service life to ensure economical and trouble-free operation. We need the following information to manufacture the ideal components for your requirements:

Intended use

Depending on the intended use, your CNC precision parts must fulfil certain requirements. Will they be exposed to aggressive chemicals during e-fuels production, for example? Is a certain degree of elasticity required? How should the parts react to temperature changes? These and many other properties can be specifically realised with our modern CNC machining centres. We are happy to advise e-fuels manufacturers personally on the optimum properties for their components.

Design data

Our employees manufacture high-quality CNC components based on your design data. From simple to highly complex shapes, (almost) anything is possible thanks to state-of-the-art processes. Our experienced CNC production specialists are always available to help you solve or optimise problems.

Material

The choice of the right material has a major influence on the performance of the finished components. Depending on the application, some materials are more and others less suitable. Choose from a wide range of different metals and non-metals to find the right material for you. Are you unsure which material is best suited to your project? Just ask us, we will be happy to advise you.

Adherence to deadlines

We attach great importance to meeting deadlines. Modern machines and short decision-making processes enable us to provide express CNC production of your components at short notice. Let us know as early as possible when you need your components so that we can plan and deliver accordingly.

Why are "one-piece" components suitable for the production of synthetic fuels?

Milling is one of the most widely used processes in industrial metalworking. Modern CNC milling machines can be used to produce both large and small components with extremely high precision. At the same time, the process is reliable and economical.
Make no compromises when it comes to components for synthetic fuel production. We mill your desired components from solid blocks. The fewer weld seams and joints are required, the more resilient and impermeable the system trains are to gases and liquids. The following table gives you an overview of the numerous advantages of this manufacturing process.
MethodTypical WeaknessesAdvantage of CNC Milling
CNC TurningLimitations in shaping to regular geometryFreeform surfaces and complex shaping possible

On request, we can then take care of the surface treatment of the finished components directly. Finally, our qualified employees carry out a final inspection. This ensures that all parts meet the customer's exact requirements

Round-the-clock production thanks to a high degree of automation

We use pallet changing systems to produce both series and individual items fully automatically. This enables us to achieve maximum production quantities in the shortest possible time at favourable conditions. Or we can mill your individual piece in an express order practically overnight for punctual delivery to Germany.

E-fuels production: the right material for every project

The material used has a significant impact on the quality of components for the production of synthetic fuels. Manufacturers can choose from a total of seven different metals and non-metals. All materials differ significantly in their properties, which is why they are differently suited to certain applications.

Steel / Stainless steel

Steel is relatively easy to machine despite its high resistance, hardness and toughness. Steel components are regularly used in mechanical engineering and the construction industry, among others, due to their high strength.
Have steel milled

Aluminium

If you have your components CNC milled from aluminium, you benefit in particular from the low weight of this metal. Aluminium is used, for example, in electronics, engine and gearbox construction, aerospace and the construction industry.
Have aluminium milled

Titanium

Titanium impresses with its high strength and relatively low density. In combination with its high corrosion resistance, it is a popular material for shipbuilding, outdoor equipment, aerospace, racing and construction parts of all kinds.

Invar

Iron-nickel alloys with a very high nickel content are known as Invar or Inconel. Due to its specific properties, it is often used for products that have to guarantee a high degree of length stability, even with temperature fluctuations. Examples include tanks for liquid gas ships, laser housings, RTM tools and astronomical instruments.

CFRP

Carbon fibre reinforced plastics (CFRP) are characterised by high rigidity and low density. They are used, for example, in the manufacture of bicycle frames, aerospace and pressurised gas containers.

GRP

Glass fibre reinforced plastics (GRP), also known as fibreglass, are inexpensive and at the same time of very high quality. Their high elongation at break and elastic energy absorption make them the ideal material for the manufacture of leaf springs, small moulded parts, pipes and industrial doors, for example.

Plastics

Due to their versatility and low cost, plastics are an important part of practically all branches of industry. They are particularly easy to machine and are therefore characterised by low material and production costs.

Good to know: What exactly are synthetic fuels and how are they produced?

E Fuel Infografik Synthese.jpg
Synthetic fuel, in particular so-called eco-fuel or e-fuel, represents another hope for a more climate-friendly mobility sector alongside electrically powered vehicles. E-fuel stands for "electrofuel". It is produced using electricity from water and carbon dioxide. Provided that the energy required comes from renewable sources, vehicles can ideally be climate-neutral. Internal combustion engines are thus powered indirectly by electricity.

On paper, the production of e-fuels is very simple. In a process known as electrolysis, water is split into its components hydrogen and oxygen. The resulting hydrogen is then combined with carbon dioxide. The result is synthetic diesel, petrol or gas.
The trend is slowly but surely moving towards electric cars. However, aircraft and ships are still mainly powered by combustion engines. A major advantage of synthetic fuels is that they can potentially make these means of transport more climate-neutral. The raw materials required for synthetic petrol are available in virtually unlimited quantities. The main challenge is to obtain the required electricity from sustainable sources. This is because the eco-balance of the energy invested determines the eco-balance of the e-fuel.

The production of e-fuels is a multi-stage process, and at each stage some of the energy originally invested is lost. This is why synthetic fuels have a relatively low level of efficiency. However, the numerous advantages, including high energy density, good storage capacity and versatility, make synthetic fuels a promising technology for greener mobility.
