How does the HMS hardware from FIDIA work?
The use of HMS for CNC work enables the particularly precise and error-free calibration of our CNC machines. On continuous or indexed birotative heads, as well as rotary swivelling tables, any geometric errors are compensated for quickly and easily. The hardware component consists of a support that is attached to the machine table. It contains three sensors and a software management module.
To carry out the HMS measurement and compensation, we first attach a measuring mandrel to the machine spindle. We then position the tool axis of the machine so that contact is established between the mandrel and the three sensors. The measurement and compensation cycle is then started and runs automatically.
